Hull Churches Home From Hospital Service originated from a research audit and needs analysis undertaken in 1993/94. The community audit was completed by 500 households and informed the structure and content of the project - i.e. free short-term 6-8 week support for the older people on discharge from hospital: The aim to assist vulnerable people through a period of convalescence to continue confidently in their own homes. As well as the Adult Service we now also offer a Carers Support Scheme and a Telecare / TeleHealth Service (please see appropriate pages). All services and projects are maintained through constant recruitment training of volunteers. All volunteers are CRB checked, trained to NVQ level II and insured. Many move onto full employment or higher education and receive and excellent quality of education and support from qualified staff. |
